The Making Of The Making Of
This research project was realized during a 3 months residency in 2006 at NADINE, Brussels. The project had several entry and exit points, questioning general modes of working, methodologies and relations to technology and media. The 3 months long process was divided into different layers of work – some very practical, others mainly theoretical – a trajectory resulting in two different modes of documentation and presentation. One was a printed publication, the other was a triple video screening. The DINA publication that was printed in September 2006 can be downloaded in the text and interview section of this webpage.
In the ten weeks of work various practical approaches examining the difference between media expressions through cinema, live performance, oral mediation and animation were tested. The videos are partly a documentation of this process and partly a model under construction; an attempt to create a model for live performance making that is constantly in negotiation with other forms of mediatised expression. It is to a potential performance what a screenplay is to a movie or a script to a play. A model for interpretation and transformation.
